Air conditioning in Richmond.

Cooling in a heavily protected part of London

Richmond has an unusually high concentration of conservation areas and listed buildings, from the Georgian houses on Richmond Hill and around Richmond Green to the Victorian terraces of Kew and Barnes. Views towards the river and across Richmond Park are also protected in places. In practice that means external condensers need careful siting and, on many properties, prior consent.

We survey before quoting so the plan reflects the actual building. In most Richmond homes there is a workable solution — a condenser at garden level behind planting or a screen, on a rear flat roof, or within an existing side passage — combined with pipework routed through the loft or an internal void. For riverside apartments we look at balcony recesses, designated plant areas and what the lease and managing agent will permit.

Working across Richmond, Kew, Barnes and Twickenham

Our engineers work regularly around Richmond Hill, Richmond Green, Sheen Road, Kew Gardens, Kew Road, Barnes Village, Castelnau, St Margarets, Strawberry Hill, Twickenham Green and Teddington High Street. Richmond sits directly between our London and Surrey coverage, which makes it one of the easier areas for us to reach for both planned visits and urgent call-outs.

Because we handle refrigeration as well as air conditioning, local restaurants, pubs, delis and convenience stores can use one contractor for the cold room, the display cabinets, the cellar cooling and the comfort cooling in the dining area — with a single planned maintenance schedule covering all of it.
